Game Designer Registration (2025)

Registrations for Game Designers at IDEAG 2025 will open on November 11th at 12.00

The fee for registering for IDEAG 2025 depends on the type of table you selected during registration and varies between 20 and 45 euros, and will entitle you to:

  • a table where you can present and play your games, on Saturday or Sunday.
  • the Game Designer badge to participate in the event on both days
  • the IDEAG 2025 notebook
  • the digital list of all the prototypes presented
  • participation in the training meetings organized on Friday 17th January
  • the possibility of using the tables on Saturday evening

To ensure the maximum possible participation in the event, it will be possible to use the table on only one of the two days of the event. The organisation reserves the right to cancel multiple registrations ( i.e. several tables booked by the same author) occurring between 11th November and 1st December by first removing the Saturday, Large, Medium and Small tables in order of priority.

On Saturday evening, however, the tables will be available to all Game Designers, regardless of the day on which the table was booked. We also remind you that registration will give you the opportunity to participate in the training and debate moments that will be held on Friday 17th January.

From 2nd December it will also be possible to obtain a table for the second day of participation.

Number and size of tables

Approximately 94 tables in three different sizes will be available:

  • S size tables: 90×90 cm with 3 chairs, with a contribution of 25€ on Saturday and 20€ on Sunday
  • M size tables: 175 x 60 cm with 4 chairs, with a contribution of 35€ on Saturday and 25€ on Sunday
  • L size tables: 180 x 90 cm with 6 chairs, with a contribution of 45€ on Saturday and 30€ on Sunday

In the 2025 edition, we decided to decrease the number of physical tables in both halls. The Glass Hall is intended for shared seating only. This is to allow for a more airy and bright environment for all authors who decide to share a table. Shared tables have been the norm for many years and allow authors to share playtests more easily.

At the same time, we have chosen to increase the contribution for Saturday and decrease that for Sunday to encourage a better distribution between the two days.

Registration ‘without table’

If you intend to participate in IDEAG but do not intend to reserve a table (because you will not have games with you, or you will come with other friends whose table you will share, or because the tables are sold out), you can still register. Registration without a table with a contribution of 10 € will entitle you to:

  • the Game Designer badge for the two days of the appointment,
  • the IDEAG 2025 personalized notebook
  • the digital list of all the prototypes presented
  • participation in the training meetings organized on Friday 17th January
  • the possibility of using the tables on Saturday evening

During the event, you will have the opportunity to meet publishers, and possibly benefit from the hospitality of other participating Game Designers to try out your games at their tables.

To register without a table, fill out the registration form as normal and – by 30 December 2024 – the one for the presentation of the prototypes.

Co-Designers, Designer Team and companions

If the games you will present at IDEAG are the work of a team of Game Designers, it is not necessary to pay for members beyond the first one.

However, if you would like everyone to have a badge and notebook, they can be obtained by registering each other team member without a table (see above).

We ask you to be honest and not book a table for the same team with different names on the two days of the event.

Here are the steps to follow to register for the event as a Game Designer:

Step 1 – Register for the event

Read the Decalogue and then fill out the form at this address to register for IDEAG 2025.

This year, payment of the contribution will be at the same time as registration and will only be made via PAYPAL. The ever-increasing number of registered authors has forced us to revise the payment procedure, so it will no longer be possible to pay by bank transfer.

We therefore ask all participants to have a PAYPAL account to make payments.

All communications will come from the email ideag@saz-italia.it. Save this contact in your address book to avoid missing important communications.

Once you have sent the receipt you will receive a booking email with your link for registering your prototypes.

Step 2 – Book your accommodation and meals at the hotel

If you want meals and accommodation offered at the facility, you will need to contact the hotel where the event will take place, to book the beds and meals you need.
It is necessary to book meals upfront.

You will find more information on this step on the “Accommodation and meals” page.

Step 3– Register your prototypes

From 20th November till December 31th, 2024 you will have the opportunity to enter the games you will bring with you to IDEAG by filling out the prototype registration form. The registration link is personal. You will receive an email from ideag@saz-italia.it which you will need to keep to register your prototypes.

This year it will be mandatory to include a photo of the game to help publishers, playtesters and game designers choose which games to try.

This year we introduced something new: Game Designers will be able to insert a link to Calendly or Google Calendar to allow publishers and playtesters to book an appointment.

Register your Calendly profile before starting to register to IDEAG 2025 and create a booking agenda for the IDEAG event (tutorial), it takes only 5-10 minutes. Or configure Google Calendar to create your own appointment schedule. Remember that if you enter this link when registering, it will be associated with all the prototypes you register.
